Your Marriage Matters
The Garden of Eden and the Value of Marriage
Genesis 1–3 defines marriage and shows us that marriage began in the Garden of Eden, in a perfect world. What’s amazing is that when we were thrust out of the Garden under God’s judgment, he let us keep marriage. So marriage today—even an imperfect marriage—is a remnant of the Garden of Eden.
In Matthew 19, Jesus is debating with some theologians about divorce. They want to talk about divorce. He says, “Let’s go all the way back to the beginning. Let’s talk about marriage.” And he quotes Genesis 2 with regard to our marriages today in an imperfect world. So Jesus says that every biblical marriage today, though imperfect, is as sacred, divine, and amazing as the marriage of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

The Song of Simeon
As Jesus is presented at Temple per the custom and Law, a righteous and devout man,
Simeon, takes the baby in his arms and declares the purpose of the child to all present.

Reasons to Believe
I’ve developed a new interest in apologetics since joining Reasons to Believe. Dr. Ross and his associates on the site keep updating the papers then review making some facinating points about life on earth, the uniqueness of earth to support advanced life forms and the beautiful origins of the universe.
Here is just one quote from an article on natural selection and evidence for it or stasis.
An obvious lesson is that it is a mistake to build a model for the history of life on Earth based only on short-term field studies. Rather than the transmutation of species through natural selection that Darwin deduced from his few months on the Galápagos Islands, the long-term field studies suggest that natural selection maintains stasis, the stabilizing of a species’ morphological traits over time.
