8“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
who was and is and is to come!”
11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.”

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
Eternity: a vast concept to contemplate. But there is more, He put eternity into man’s heart. What does that mean, to have eternity in our hearts? How deep is that? How vast? How awesome?
It is mysterious–definitely! God, in putting His truth, His wisdom in us, blessed and anointed us.
None of us know the ways of God, but from this simple passage we understand that He pursues and puts in our hearts something of value to Him. “Eternity in our hearts” is the all-encompassing, vast plan of God. We are included. We are blessed because we are included. Relish that today.
3:11 The Message
True, God made everything beautiful in itself and in its time—but he’s left us in the dark, so we can never know what God is up to, whether he’s coming or going.

Quoting Eldredge from Waking the Dead (p 72):
You probably can’t imagine there being a glory to your life, let alone one that the Enemy fears. But remember — things are not what they seem. We are not what we seem. You probably believed that your heart was bad too. I pray that fog of poison gas from the pit of hell is fading away in the wind of God’s truth. And there is more. Not only does Christ say to you that your heart is good, he invites you now out of the shadows to unveil your glory. You have a role you never dreamed of having.

What happened to my glory?
As I have read Eldredge’s book, I have begun the meditate on each chapter, each section. In fact, I have taken the scriptures referenced there and used those for my reflection times with God. These are some of the best scriptures to get to the heart of the matter, that is, what is going on inside me and what is going on in my world.
“The glory of God is man fully alive” -Saint Irenaeus. The glory of God is, man, you and I, being, becoming fully alive to God. That thought makes Eldredge and me ask, “What ARE God’s intentions towards me? Let’s see what He said in the Word. If Saint Irenaeus’ words are true, God must have staked His reputation on us being fully alive before Him.”
