This is the year of the Bible or of the Word of God for me.
My plan was to fill these pages with some of the things I have found in the Word of God over the last year. My purpose was to inspire you to find truth there for yourself. I concluded that was not the way to go about it. I am including here some videos of other who have found the Word of God invaluable for life, health, and “the pursuit of happiness.” (More likely for us, pursuit of holiness)
I concluded that the only way others are going to begin to understand that the Word is for them is that God draw them to it. I am not the draw. My experience is not the draw. The Word is intimately tied to a longing for a knowledge of the Holy–and a longing to be holy. God has to draw us into Himself for us to even want/desire the greater gifts. So I do trust that something I say or do this year is the beginning of the journey for some out there who are not currently on the journey into the heart of God.
I will be covering some scriptures which are meaningful to me. I have no intent that these will be the motivators I once envisioned. They will be here simply as a reminder to me of what God has taught and wants to continue to teach.
Moving towards the heart of God is a great adventure. God designed that journey with the support of others included. He surrounds us with those who support us and also those who have need of what He has given us to share. It’s only natural we experience Him in a group, in community, in fellowship with other believers. He wants us touching–touching one another in big and small ways. Who knows when we will need a brother or sister. Who knows when they will need us. Be there for them.
God’s blessings on you as you begin this journey or continue it in 2013. This is His year. This is your year.

It takes a revelation of humility to come to this view. Usually it requires many re-runs! I pray that your words and posts will inspire others to inspire others…
Just recently I have reminded myself of this same revelation (again!) and sincerely want life to work this way. For even our most holy and proper actions, compared to what Goes is and does, fall into the category of dirty rags, but we know Jesus who makes all things clean in a heavenly washer (shaped like a cross). I am encouraged to try harder to try less, and encourage you to try the same!! Thank you, and peace to you.

Thanks Nopew. I appreciate your confession. Unless the Holy Spirit draws them, they will not come. He drew me for a long time and I resisted blindly. I lost so much from that resisting. I want to “see.” I want the body of Christ to “see” the table that has been set for us. Let’s gather and partake. It is there for us–for our partaking. We/I miss so much because of my fallen nature. I want to want more now.
Blessing and peace this week.
Are you cold? Thrusts of cold have come from the north even to the South where I am. A different and brutal winter in some cases across America. You are probably used to it where you are. Same ole, same ole to you. Ha!!
